On March 13th, 2025, Iroquois Valley convened our annual shareholder meeting. It was an engaging session kicked off by our Board Chair, Anna Jones-Crabtree of Vilicus Farms. Anna shared her perspective on the current agricultural landscape in the United States as both a board member and an organic farmer. Always an inspiration, Anna offered many ways to support farmers in these turbulent times.
Next, our CEO, Chris Zuehlsdoff, spoke about our strategic direction, with an eye towards financial priorities and partnerships, and provided a robust portfolio and economic update. The new VP of Marketing & Communications, Nora Chovanec, highlighted the work of our Farm, Impact & Sustainability Committee, delving into our impact pillars and the tangible ways in which our farmers are driving positive change.
Lastly, Board Director DD Burlin debuted our new flagship Farmer Success Sharing program. In 2025, we hope to use our shareholder-approved 2023 equity incentive plan to award qualifying farmers $15,000 – $30,000 grants of REIT shares.
Our farmers steward the land we own. Through their investment of time, expertise, and passion, they increase the productive value of our farmland. They are the key component in our vision of improving the health of people, communities, and our planet. We believe this initiative demonstrates our dedication to our farmer partners, without whom none of what we do would be possible.
Please note that the meeting recording begins with images of our farmers and the audio starts at 3 min 50 seconds.
